Where do these charities get all the money to do this?

I get pleas for donations from organizations I haven’t supported for 20 years. Waste of their monies but they don’t seem to care.

About 25 years ago I signed up to stop junk mail and catalogs. Even though I moved to a new state 6 years ago I still do not get junk mail of any kind

Some years ago, a Company that wanted me to buy Card Collections of pictures of planes, sent me a free Aviator’s Watch. The watch itself was complete garbage, but the wrist strap was absolutely the best one I’ve ever had! Up to that point, every wrist strap I’ve ever owned always went “bad” before the watch did. This free strap remained in perfect shape for many years, right up until I retired and stopped wearing wristwatches…

Two things that make me say “no” to a charity — sending me unsolicited “gifts” intended to guilt me into giving, and a response to a donation that says “Thank you, now send us more.”

Charity Navigator is a good source to see which charities devote the least amount to expenses.

Somehow they haven’t figured out yet that, if I wanted return address labels (which I don’t), I would want them to spell my name correctly

Sounds like the Winnipeg Humane Society. Once you donate money, you are on their mailing list for Christmas ornaments, address stickers, greeting cards and all kinds of other stuff. I get it….these things remind a person to donate more money. It just seems to me that the money they spend, which must be considerable, could be used to help the animals in their care. But hey…what do I know ?
