My wife and her brother were going through stuff that her parents have had stored in a basement for decades and found stuff wrapped in old newspapers, some from WW2. They kept them.
I supported the local paper for years until the price went through the roof and the content and quality went down the tubes. It’s hard to imagine it wasn’t self inflicted on their part.
My local paper only comes five days a week, ends up delivered in weird hiding places, and costs an arm and a leg. Yet I still pay for it because it’s the local news.
Oh, this brought me to tears. So many newspapers shutting down. So many local journalists that dug deep and uncovered local crime and corruption now out of jobs. I’ve subscribed to my local paper online for years now but still miss unfolding that PAPER paper! Especially if out on the deck on a warm day (with cup of coffee and my dogs around me to buffer me against the bad news!)

There used to be a “heart” button. What happened to the “heart” button?
If I could find a “heart” button I would “heart” this.
