I am one of those people who always has about six different books going at the same time, so an ereader works better for me. Also, at 81 I really appreciate being able to make the font larger!

Yes! I do too! But ebooks are so convenient… I used to travel a lot and a considerable weight of my luggage was paper :D

I love to read, but unfortunately carpal tunnel injuries make it painful to hold a large book. Thank God for E-readers

I like the ability to adjust the font size and the convenience. I always have my smartphone with me ergo I always have the book I am reading with me as well, plus the nest 3 books I will read. Whenever I have a wait, like when getting the car washed, oil changed, etc., I just pull out my phone and pass the time reading.

Books take you on adventures you may never have. Unlike e-books that seem to be cold. I’ll have a real paper book over an e-book any day. My library room has over 1,000 books…I never know when I may want to re-read one or more of them.

I’ve had a kindle for years, and I loaded several books on it… but I’ve never read them. I have, however, read several thousand regular books in that time.

Every summer, the wonderful library in my town has a book sale, all the books you can fit into a small plastic sack for $5. I can stock up for the whole year, and when I finish a book, it goes to the recycle store run by the animal shelter for someone else to read.

Yes, there are advantages of ereaders. But there’s also just as many advantages of a regular book. Like for instance: you don’t have to worry about battery life, you don’t have to worry about glare. Just to name two.

I, too, prefer paper books, however, many here give valid reasons for using an e-reader. I think the conclusion is we love reading and it doesn’t matter what type of “device” we read, as long as we are reading. And comics helped start my love of reading. Happy trails and Happy Father’s Day!

Strangely, even though I’ve been reading lo these past 65+ years, I’ve never noticed that specific scent…that of a newly opened book. I assume that hardcover is the refered book. I have no problem immediately smelling coffee, wood smoke, diesel or a delicate yet memorable perfume. I’ve stopped to smell the roses, can’t say the same for the smell of arguably my second favourite pastime.

The boy’s listening skills are impressive.

I bought an e reader from a reputable brand. It wouldn’t focus or retain my information. I had to log in everytime I tried to access a new or revisit a site in it.
