I remember that day very well, both as a student and a teacher. It was a great feeling.

If you made the last day of school a national holiday then it wouldn’t be a school day so the day before would be the last day of school.

Because not all schools end on the same day. Ending dates are spread all over the month of May and June (in the US)

Of course that would require a Federal “National Last Day of School.” Of course some people are so opposed to Federal mandates that if there was a Federal mandate to “Keep breathing,” they would hold their breathes until they died… And that might be a good thing.

I’m a teacher in the USA, and our school’s last day is June 18th. The next day is Juneteenth, a national holiday. But I have to go back to work to finish things up on the 20th and 21st…

Because the last day of school for students is not the same for teachers? Or because everybody who thinks school is free daycare dreads the day?
