Once knew a couple. They bought their first house. Were all excited to be part of the community and wanted to do their part for the neighborhood. It was summer, hot and humid. They bought a new lawn mower. About halfway through its maiden voyage the husband stopped for a break. The brand new mowed sat there, slowly, day by day, disappearing from view as the grass grew taller and taller. It finally vanished, never to be seen again, at least until the grass died in the fall (and before it re-disappeared beneath the snow). There it remained, until they sold the house, years later. Must have been Eno’s uncle?
I wish they’d eat my neighbor’s grass. I’ve mowed the lawn five times already and he hasn’t gotten his mower out of the shed even once. What an eyesore!
