“Swim”? That’s stretching it a bit – literally!

I’d like to see when Rose is hinting it’s time for a Caribbean vacation.

This strip doesn’t mention Father’s Day, but it is still appropriate. Good work folks.

We never had an inflatable “pool” for out kids. I had an 8’ dia by 2’ deep stock tank. We had our own well, so the water itself was free. I could fill that tank full to the brim for about 25 cents worth of electricity.

Periodically through the warm months, I would haul that onto the patio, fill it full, and the whole neighborhood-full of kids could dunk or cool off in it.

Since the patio was hidden from the road by an 8’ lilac hedge plus being in an el of the building, it could not be seen from the street. Our kids, and most of the neighbors’ kids, swam and played without suits. Most of the neighbors just shut their eyes. Late evenings, many of them joined us in the tank … with something tall and cool to sip … also without suits.
