I haven’t been to Sams Club or Home Depot in awhile, I went last weekend and a Pro golf store took over a HUGE Goodwill store. I guess Goodwill expanded and the Golf shop sells enough to support their new store

It’s not the club’s fault you are a poor shot.

The great golfer Tommy Bolt was a well-known club breaker and this line was reputedly uttered to him by his caddie on a really bad day.

Not unlike my feeble attempts to play golf. But I never broke a club. The golf course rented them to me so I’d have been charged for it.

I’ve never understood the attraction of golf. Or curling. They’re both of Scottish origin. I think it shows the Scotts weren’t very good at games.

No wonder golf is a four-letter word, huh?

I can relate … I’ve played all my life.

New clubs here can cost almost $AU 200-00 each. And that was a few years ago.

I sort of learned how to play golf in high school (girl’s) gym class, but we played in the gym using bouffant doll wigs (Barbie size) as tees.

Husband and I went to stay at an upstate NY large hotel which had a golf course while we were dating. His dad had him take golf lessons – “very important for business to know how to play”.

So with his one bag of clubs we started out to play golf at the hotel. We went to the 9 hole course – “anyone serious about playing will be on the main course so we won’t annoy anyone too much”. Somehow we lost a hole – teed up at one hole, ended playing at the hole at the next hole?

I think when his parents’ house was sold he took the clubs here – but not sure. But one game in just under the 50 years we have been together – pretty sure there will not be another.
