We tried it, in Paris France, last year’s heat wave. It worked. It was funny but it scared us as that kind of heatwave is becoming regular yearly happenstance.
I prefer chocolate chip cookies back in the back window of a car in Arizona in the summertime. The early Plymouth Barracuda with that oversized wraparound rear window could bake dozens in less time than preheating the oven. And your car smelled great for weeks.

But is it hot enough to cook cookies on the dash yet?

Oh, it’s only been 115°F here in the Coachella Valley in California. I say only because it’s going to be hotter later on. Like 120+,

Australian celebrity chef Peter Russel-Clarke once did a whole show on cooking on a car.

I use to have a solar oven when I was in Scouts. Not very useful deep in the woods.

I’ve heard of truckers that would heat canned food on their engines between stops

I have wondered if anyone ever tried that for real.
