My worst nightmare was waking up after I had been dreaming that I wasn’t sleeping. In my dream, I was staring at my clock radio watching the time. When I woke up the clock was offset by a few inches and had a different later time. I was working rotating 12-hour shifts at the time. I hadn’t had a good night’s sleep in months.
I remember every summer of high school working at some grueling job and for the first week or so every night’s dreams consisted of continuing the day job. Not fun.
