Reminds me of a long-ago Norman Rockwell painting.

Gossip can be pernicious.

Oy. Never fails.

He DID say ain’t no way womin going to be ordained deacons. He did say dat. Let’s not obfuscate this matter with this smokescreen here.

People promoted to important positions with nothing to do creates a toxic gossip workplace.

My dad used to say that gossip was like a hole in your tooth. Your tongue makes it much larger than it really is.

And that’s how the synod crumbles.

John Cornwall summed it up best in A Thief in the Night, a book about the death of John Paul 1 when he portrayed the Vatican as “a palace of gossipy eunuchs” and “a sea of brilliant b!tchery.”
