The lawn does not seem to realize that being irrigated is for their own good.

You may care, but does the lawn care?

BOO invasive Euro-grasses, wastes of fuel, full of chemicals but producing no food, boring plain grass in front of house after house. The suburban lawn is the most under-rated assault on the environment in the US.

Yes, I have one. I feel the pressure to be a good neighbor; but I am not happy about it. I just learned from my daughter that “clover lawns” may be an option. I’ll probably look into that next year.

we’ve had so much rain and heat that when we finally get a nice day we have to waste it cutting the grass which thrives with the heat and rain

I quickly lose interest in mowing my lawn, and start messin’ around with all the gear.

I’m still workin’ on turnin’ my lawn mower into a remote controlled helicopter… but still looks like a lawn mower!

    Next comes the Weed Eater!

    Look out, neighbors! ツ

    Don’t make him greener.

You wouldn’t like him when he’s GREENER!

Sounds like you need to cool off a bit. Calm down and enjoy your irrigation.

If my yard said that, I’d be afraid… very…afraid! (but since I don’t water my yard, I’m safe…whew!)

But if you water it, it grows, then you have to mow it. Easier to just get rid of the grass. Tell it to SOD off.
