I used to say that inadequate animation was ‘cute’. It can be a blessing or a curse.

Imposter syndrome?

One-size-fits-all comment on someone’s terrible writing: “I can see you’ve put a lot of effort into this!”

Our pastor, Jesse, related a story when he was in Rochester, NY. A gal had just sung a praise song and at the end of it , only he and his wife applauded. Later, he asked a long time member why no one else clapped. “She wasn’t very good,” the guy replied. Tough crowd.

..life is a stage, and we are all just actors in the play..

My dad was not a nice guy. Before his memorial my sister, brother, and I spent some time to think of ambiguous responses to things people might say to us. “He was an amazing guy.” “They broke the mold.” and many more.

Sometimes the truth serves no useful purpose. She is a friend. The critics will handle the destroying of reputations and morale.

“She was indeed a great actress”. Which doesn’t mean that the people who gave her those compliments were sincere.
