He talked about something other than her.

Pontificating about the inconsequential.

If this is the same couple, why haven’t they divorced yet?

At least she didn’t say, “I’m sorry to interrupt yet again…”

This was just mean.

Sometimes you shouldn’t say anything and hope that he will just stop on his own. Other times you just have to say something – otherwise he may never stop.
