    Mine uses the scratch post and the diningroom chairs. Cats are like that.

    “Scratchy-post” train your new kitten (bribe it with cat-treats) and it will never scratch your furniture. Ours was 20 years of proof that it works.

    I wanted a nice house with good furniture and my wife wanted lots of pets over the years. I’m glad she won, our house isn’t a showcase but it is a loving home

    I remember reading about an interior decorator who in a sense employed a cat for this purpose. She said it forced her to stay au courant with the latest styles.

    My first cat shredded my new couch while I was at work. He’d do when I was home too but then I could stop him. He did learn to use a scratching post and I covered the arms of my couch.
