A similar joke was used in a recent Red and Rover strip. Red and Rover were looking out at the rain. Red said, “You’re right, Rover. This must be the other day we asked the rain to come back on.”
Red and Rover and The Wizard of Id are in strong competition for my third favourite strip. The two clear favourites are Calvin and Hobbes and Andy Capp but there is strong competition for third place.
We got about 3/4 inch-19 mm rain here in the desert southwest of New Mexico overnight and there’s a possibility of more today! That brings us up to 2.81 inches-71.3mm for the year.
In a Douglas Adams’ short story, aorist rods were invented to siphon off energy from the past. Everything went well until those S.O.B.s in the future started using them. :)
My wife and I got married outside in a rose garden. During the ceremony it started to sprinkle. My brother, standing next to me as best man, stage whispered to the pastor, “can’t you do something?”

There’s a ‘use by’ date on the ‘some other day’ thing.

This must be where the biggest threat to the world, the inhuman monsters at CIA, got the idea.

First time that happened to the Wiz. Usually Rodney gets the treatment.
