That guy never stops. He is for sure a gluttonous hog for punishment. Is there some secret compartment on the dock he can leave stashes in for times like this ?
To LROS – You want more rain and less heat and I want more heat and less rain. No, I don’t want temperatures over 100, but when we can’t even get up to 80 for a high, it just doesn’t feel like summer! So far, I only ran my air conditioner 2 days this summer and I only did that for the cats’ comfort. I was outside all day those 2 days. And we can’t seem to go 2 days straight without getting rain. There are a couple farm fields that I pass on my way to work every day which have been under water for about 2 weeks now. Where the water finally did recede, there’s nothing growing anymore. It all got drowned or washed away. I sure wish we could deliver our rain to places that really need it. I suppose next summer, we’ll have a drought here and we’ll be clamoring for rain. But right now, we need for the rain to STOP!!!
I would join them on the loading dock if it wasn’t so darn HOT outside. Our boy Chez is one funny cat. Yesterday I let Molly off leash for 5 seconds to follow me across a narrow plank over a small stream, and she bolted past me and ran across the field, down an alley and around the corner. So much for being a velcro dog. She turned and came back but it still took a few minutes to leash her up. Today we start with the shock/vibrating collar. 108 the next several days, (Rose is 10 degrees hotter!) I’m watering my roof for a few hours in the afternoon to help cool the house when the swamp cooler starts blowing warm air. Wearing a long sleeve wet shirt and taking long naps. 45 day forecast keeps us well into the 100s.
While Chesney’s jokes are funny, he should know better than to insult the person who cooks his meals. Sometimes I think Rodney Dangerfield had the right idea when it came to comedy. After all, you can’t upset people by making fun of yourself. On another note, saw three juncos, a sparrow, a squirrel, five robins, five ravens, a damselfly, a Western tanager, and a dragonfly while out walking today.

Chesney, how would you feel if Annie got on a soapbox and made unkind jokes about you? But Annie is too sweet to even think of such a thing.

It’s not wise to criticize Annie’s cooking.
