Wild swimming is very ‘in’ these days.

Grab some crawdads for dinner.

When I was young that kind of place was paradise to me. I would catch snakes, lizards, tadpoles, crawdads and other critters. I had a baby pool that I would place the crawdads and tadpoles in and I had a red ear slider and a box turtle and oddly the box turtle loved to eat the crawdads.

I grew up swimming in places like that. My wife won’t even go in a lake because the muddy bottom grosses her out. But she’ll swim in the ocean with sharks.

Not to worry, Clayton. That’s just the Creature from the Black Swimmin’ Hole.

I belong to a ladies group that meets every week for a potluck and swim in a pool. I just eat and talk. Pools are too boring. Give me a creek with tadpoles and I’m there!

Even as a kid I always wondered what was in the lake water with me. I still do.

Don’t forget to check for leeches when you get out.

As long as it’s not nibbling something else ..

I’ve never lived anywhere where there was a swimming hole. Do they really exist?

That was my “every summer day” of my childhood at the local lake. Was even more fun when I was on lifeguard duty. Kept a salt shaker at my station to help kids get rid of blood suckers.

No extra charge for the leeches.

Payback for the snotty kids who don’t appear to respect their father.

Just be glad it didn’t nibble your fishing rid.

I noticed the wife stays clear from all his outdoor activities..

As a kid, before we moved to town, My younger bother and I swam in the 2 livestock ponds and a nearby creek. Those were some really good times.

These kids are just too citified to appreciate this.

Grew up with a wet marsh at the end of our road. Loved walking through the mud and streams. Swam in nearby lakes every summer. Didn’t see a pool until I left town.

Lt. Worf was forced to take a mud bath to make his kid and the ladies happy. If a Klingon can handle a mud bath these kids can too.

what was especially fun when I was a kid was when you’d get outta the water, and then you had to spend a few minutes picking off the leeches… ahh… good times, good times!!

When I was about 4 or 5, I came out of a pond like that and found a leach on my knee. I was screaming so loud, the neighbors all came running. Luckily, I got over it.

I remember swimming in the lake and having the fish come up and nibble on my legs.
