Should have just told him those bumps and scars are from being tackled by Dick Butkus while playing football.

Including watching him threaten fitted sheets last week! It wasn’t senility; it was brain damage!

What is a monkey wrench? I remember that name from my childhood. Gonna have to look it up.

Just above my hairline on my left side is a bump. It’s a little smaller than about half of an egg. No idea why it’s there Several years ago, while having my hair done by a new person, she asked what it was. I’m kind of ashamed of myself for saying it, but not a lot, when I told her that I was smarter than most people and that’s where my extra brain was stored. She just said “Oh, ok”. See why I’m not totally ashamed?

My little brother rode his toy tractor down the basement steps to our home when he was about 3. He got a huge goose egg on the front of his forehead for the troubles. He still has it 55 some years later.

One thing you can say about Earl is that he is secure in his own self. Self-deprecation never bothers him. It probably has something to do with having lived with Opal all these years.

I actually DID ride my tricycle down the concrete stairs when I was about 18 months old! At least, that’s the story my mother told me. I definitely had my cranium fractured. The cracks showed up on an X-ray taken when I was 16.

Ditto, what a coincidence. But my first scar is on my chin from sledding down a steep hill at the age of 7, not able to steer, and hit a parked car bumper (c. 1950) … not “end of story.”

Keep my tools in the tool box on the floor so the only time I bonk my head is when I bend over to get a wrench…
