J D Vance rose to fame and acclaim for his book Hillbilly Elegy, in which he describes an impoverished childhood from which he was saved only when his grandfather got a good union job. (Some have described his effect on Trump’s campaign as a Hillbilly EULOGY.)
Now, of course, Vance wants to eviscerate the unions (as well as economic lifelines like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid) that are so crucial to “his” people — the ones he now turns his back on.
Vance now stands AGAINST all the values he wrote about in his book. Oh yeah, also calling Trump “America’s Hitler,” the “heroin” of society, a threat to democracy and pledging to always be a “Never Trumper” until he decided he had more to gain by becoming the Trumpiest of them all.
I guess that’s what going to Yale Law School, becoming a Wall $treet hedge fund manager and brown-nosing 34x CONVICTED FELON Don OLD Trump will do to a person.
When I first saw the chameleon, I thought it was Kamala that Scott was trying to satirize. After all, that was one of Donald’s complaints about her – how she “suddenly turned black.”
But I guess that the two week window fell between the convention and Joe’s bowing out. So, the question remains:
Vance is not so much against unions as he is opposed to economic globalization policies that have encouraged off shore manufacturing and social poverty programs that fail to support people to improve their abilities to provide for themselves, at lesst this is what I have gleaned. Admittedly, I am not JD Vance expert.
I was born in the southern Appalachians and spent most of my childhood summers there. I read his book and recognize a lot of what he writes about, good and bad. Most hillbilly famillies have a branch like his, but we don’t like to talk about them. As to what he has become? An insult to my people, and having worked and lived in India I’m amazed his wife hasn’t kicked him out. To use a movie reference, he dove deep into the Dark Side.
I’m neither a supporter nor basher of Vance yet, and I understand where Mr. Stantis is in part coming from on this, but I’ve already seen WAY too many memes featuring “KAMA KAMA KAMA KAMA KAMA Chameleon!” (The Boy George hit, for your young ’uns) to buy into this portrayal. She has more prominently earned such a portrayal, in my opinion. (I mean, go back far enough, and you could even slather former Democrat Trump with such a characterization.)

If it were Vance, or whatever his name is, there would be a trail of slime.

This seems to be the sentiment of many of the black conservatives on Youtube in regards to Kamala

That’s a good one. I will agree with his army buddies that criticisms should exclude his service, however horrible his politics may be.

What animal will represent Kamala?

Or one of many other “Never Trumpers” that are now fully backing him, especially those he call nasty names.

I think Scott confused him with Kamala. Now there’s a chameleon.

Kamala should pick Mitt Romney as her running mate.
The poor guy’s going down for the third time out there in GOP country.Throw him a life preserver!!

Hummmm … Would not the thought, that the chameleon could also be apropos to Scott, occur to anyone other than myself?

Vance joins the likes of Graham and Cruz in the wind-socking leadership of the GOP.

If it’s not Vance, then it’s former Rep. George Santos.
