If the cat annoys Jimbo like this, he should simply continue to enjoy his garbage moment and oneness with the universe and place the bag in the bin without disturbing the cat’s “claw snag moment”. I’m thinking after experiencing such an event, the cat miraculously will never have such a oneness claw snag moment around a garbage can again!
For decades taking out the garbage was my job – per husband “ICK – you do it!”
Then Covid came along and we were in the house almost all the time. Suddenly he started insisting on taking out the garbage.
Why the change? (No, I knew it was not that he was meeting someone at the curb.) It was his big chance to be outside. I still have to take in the empty pail the next day.

I usually take the trash out at or around 5 AM, that is how I know that the waning crescent moon is in the southeastern sky then.
