This strip is from 1974, just two months after President Nixon left office in disgrace.

Sounds like Mr. Lynch is occupied with a “suspended” sentence.

Also sounds very timely. Once again the past is prologue.

I bet Warden “Lockwell” is all choked up after receiving the award!

Mr. Lynch got lynched? Or just end up in prison? Here, that’d be for political crimes.

Spiro Agnew resigns as VP under Nixon. Nixon appoints Gerald Ford as VP. Nixon Resigns and Ford becomes President. Gerald Ford pardons Nixon. Did I get that sequence right ?
