hey gweedo. is that your actual photo? i had put my own up as an avatar when i first signed in here, but changed it when i got bored looking at myself.

But which one is better off?????

Ted’s mother should have pushed him out of the nest a looooooog time ago.

How about you try that (Ted’s “advice” as per you in first panel) to the office John?

Or, better yet, join CF-Reserves and try applying that for muster-parade?

Elly’s being too kind. Ted is much worse than an idiot. He’s a total jerk.

I understand that the lead times for comics are measured in weeks, but with the horrors of what just happened in Pittsburgh, somehow the story of a socially inept bachelor like Ted just doesn’t seem funny…

DavidBugea, most of these are OLD strips, from the 70’s just getting a re-run now. Lynn retired the strip as a whole a few years ago and is just reworking some of them.

John, I wouldn’t let my wife judge my friends – Bachelor and idiot? Of course, HER best friend is Connie. She makes Ted look like a saint and a scholar.

John accepting advice from Ted??? A smart man knows better than to take advice on any subject from a failure in that subject. It doesn’t matter if it’s advice about “handling” your wife from a jerk like Ted or financial advice from someone who’s lost everything because of his own stupidity, one listens to the successful person, not the fool.

To Shadowwriter and Summerdog:

There was a single man in Pittsburgh who hadn’t had a date since 1984. He opened fire on an aerobics class filled with women, in Pittsburgh. I forget how many women were injured and killed. Whats even worse, he was blogging about doing it for around a year before he actually did it.

Always amazes me how many people who have never maintained a successful marriage want to give advice to those of us who are already enjoying one.

I love it!!! The drama, the advice, the wisdom…keep it coming folks!

JanC, there are two things even worse than taking advice on an issue from one who has failed on it

taking advice from one who has not even tried. taking advice from the failure or nontryer and then passing it on to someone else as if it is a wisdom-pearl!

Wish I could say (stuff) about my husbands friend, but I don’t. He also doesn’t sit around telling my husband he’s henpecked! John does need some married friends….He might see how good he really has it! ;)

Oh no did he say something other than that John is whipped? I guess his idea of a perfect marriage is where the man does the whipping. He wouldn’t have a clue about how a real marriage works, with give and take and respect on both sides. Too bad, not Norman, your loss!

Has anyone ever wondered whether perhaps NotNormal *is* a boy? Like, 10 or 11? It would account for the perceived maturity level. Perhaps he’s just a bored, lonely little kid who gets his giggles fooling grownups into assuming he’s an adult. Whatever his age, he’s obviously been ill-reared, and consequently feels that bad attention is better than no attention. This would suggest a potentially effective method of dealing with him.
