See? I said that a few days ago! I noticed the name was being spelled with a “C” & Heart’s friend’s name is spelled with a “K”. And the name Catherine can be spelled as Katherine!
Oh, so THAT’S why Kat’s last name was revealed a while ago (and then suddenly completely forgotten, when her mother was called “Mrs. Kat’s Mom”) – so she could be differentiated from another Cat.
I always had at least one other Bob in our 15-20 size class in school. I eventually worked in an office where there were 10 employees, and 3 of us were Bobs. Not a problem these days.
My cousin’s name is Katherine and her wife’s is Cathleen. And one goes by Kathie and the other Cathy. Their middle names are Annabelle and Anne respectively. But, and this is a big but, Kathie also answers to Katie due to about 7 or 8 girls with similar names in primary school.

Welp! I was wrong. There’s not another “Kat”, there are more!

I used to work with six Katherines, each went by a different spelling and nickname.

Mystery solved. Further chaos to occur as the situation calls for it.
