I’m so old that typewriters were a big part of my environment. Back then, everyone over the age of 2 knew what a typewriter was. Most kids had a chance to play with one now and then. I took typing class in high school and bought my own typewriter before that.
You can still buy typewriters on Amazon (and elsewhere I’m sure). Even manual ones. And I also took 2 years of typing in high school. Two of the most useful courses I took, given the amount of time I spend in front of a computer screen.
