He lives in Florida, so he can travel a short distance and be in a different ocean or gulf.

Baby turtles have no way of knowing who their parents are. Mommy buried her eggs and did not know who got her pregnant.

Fillmore was going there to see his family. All he has met is his Uncle Karl. I suppose that it was a good thing that Fillmore got to meet his Uncle Karl when he did. It seems that Karl has the wonder lust. The rest of the family is a no show.

That’s a lot of child support.

That’s the gist for a lot of reptilians, they’re just born with the instinct to go out on their own without anybody to take care of them.

I wonder if Fillmore has ever had a “beach event”?

100 babies is a lot of child support, another ocean makes sense.

[To the new recruit at the wildlife preserve] “While it is true that they have a hundred or so eggs clustered together, we still prefer to call them ‘turtle nests,’ and not ‘omelet stations.’”

The turtles leave broad tracks leading to their nests. Any critter willing to get sand between it’s toes can dig them up for a feast. The turtles survive by laying so many everybody gets sick of eating eggs and goes looking other food. And now those no-fun patrols chase us off.
