Wanda didn’t let Hammie finish. Maybe he was going to say " And she can pull it along behind her." Nah, that’s not Hammie’s mind set. He wants to launch her up to the doors from the sidewalk.
Growing up a farm kid, when I was about 12 or so, I built a "cannon.’ It was a piece of 24 inch long, !/2 in diameter cast iron pipe with a pipe cap. I drilled a hole in the cap. I mounted the thing on a set of toy wagon wheels. Unscrewed the pipe cap and stuck small firecracker fuse through the cap, screwed it back on, rolled a marble down the pipe and touched it off. I had a lot of fun, until my dad figured out what I was doing. He thought it was. clever idea, but totally unsafe. Fun while it lasted.
You know, in the history of Baby Blues, Hammie has not shown much sibling jealousy against Wren, even though Zoe showed lots of it against Hammie. Today’s strip is an exception.
I see Hammie’s future as a mustached strong man in a circus lighting the fuse for a cannon with a lovely redhead acting as a human cannon ball that gets switched out during a clown distraction, then appears at the other end of the tent unharmed after the cannon is fired. “Ta DAA!”

Mom once again stifling the boy’s creativity. Probably a good thing this time. A murder rap at his age could stifle his future.

Check out Cul de Sac from 10/12/24 (originally published in 2009.) Great minds think alike.

He should be begging for a little brother, he needs an accomplice for his deeds. My brother and I were batman and robin then and still are now.
