Duane Eddy almost didn’t become famous except for a mistake by Dick Clark. One time, at a dance session, he had forgotten to take along all the records he was going to play. When he ran out, he told the audience he was going to play the “B” sides of the 45s he just played and asked them to rate them. When he got to “Rebel Rouser,” the crowd loved it! The rest is history.
