The first portable electric drill was invented by Wilhelm Fein in 1895. It was designed to fit into an ordinary electric light socket for power, allowing users to drill holes in various materials without the need for a separate power source2. Another early portable electric drill was developed by Black + Decker in 1916, which had a pistol-grip handle and a trigger control
Well, the electric drill was invented around 1885, and Black and Decker was formed back in the early 1900’s. I would say that drill should have some value, even if it’s junk. Sell it.
I have an old stainless steel drill like that. It is heavy. Works great though I rarely use it and use my Kobalt one instead because I don’t want to burn out the motor.

Someone threw it out and Agnes found it, so the tool, no doubt, has issues. Trout has landed on the best use for it. ;-)

I’m a little surprised Trout didn’t know what it was

Agnes will use it for something — probably not in the instruction manual. My drill is only 3/8".

A classic that is going for about $100 on e-bay (refiurbished).

I’m surprised, Trout is usually the one who identifies tools. Remember her correct assessment of a Lincoln tombstone buzz box welder?
