You guys need to buy a baby gate.

We rented some while ours was under construction. The stairs were carpeted. Our toddler found he could crawl up the stairs. Coming down e would slide down feet first on his belly, then do it all over. Again, and again, and again.

OMG, I just looked up Huayna picchu — which is actually Huayna picchu stairs of death! Yikes!

Robb has accurately drawn what I believe is the top section.

I wonder if there is any parent who has not experienced a moment of heart-stopping terror like that.

The most terrifying sound is my little one on the bottom step. That kid is like a lizard-he scurries so fast that one minute he is in the room with me, the next, on the stairs! And he giggles like crazy when I catch him. I follow him up and then carry him down. Thank God for the new baby gate! I expect someday he will get through that one too, that adorable little scamp.

Thanks for making me look up Huayna Picchu. I didn’t know it existed and so tonight I will go to bed slightly smarter than when I woke up!

I have climbed Huayna Picchu
