A period is like a cold. It doesn’t go away that easily.

A hysterectomy. Also large doses of birth control pills. (Which is something I’ve heard woman astronauts do in space.) Singing along with Ann Margaret "I enjoy being a girl.

My wife would suggest surviving until you hit menopause.

Don’t they have an assembly at schools any more where they talk to the girls about this?

Reminds me of the little girl who came home from her first day of kindergarden all excited over how much fun it was. And her Mom said that was great, the little girl will be all ready to go the next day, b/c she can look forward to having more fun. And the little girl replies “I hAvE tO gO aGaiN!?!?!?!?”

A question of the ages. Or as MeanBob notes, a question of age. Asking as a stranger in a strange land (who never thought to ask before) will Heart’s cramps be a permanent part of this or will they be a sometimes thing?

Menstruation is a touchy subject. Thank goodness Luann and Heart have great moms that explain how periods work.

Here’s my menstruation story. When I was twelve, I noticed a red stain in my underwear during PE class. I thought I’d peed myself but it turned out that it wasn’t the case. I called my mom about it and she said that I’d gotten my period and that it was a normal thing that all girls and women dealt with.
