Cyclist files $1m lawsuit after being struck by ambulance and billed $1,800 for ride to hospital
William Hoesch, a 71-year-old from Oregon, received a bill for $1,862 (ÂŁ1,471) for the ambulance ride after he was struck. He fractured his nose in the incident, and, according to the lawsuit, has since amassed $47,000 (ÂŁ37,147) in medical expenses.
Hoesch is now suing Columbia River Fire and Rescue department, the ambulance provider, for $997,000 (ÂŁ788,000). The sum is said to cover the fee of the ambulance ride, his current and future medical expenses, and an additional $900,000 (ÂŁ711,342) in pain and suffering.
A new coroner was elected in my county. The first time she was called out, it was a car wreck that occurred in our county, but the body flew across the street into the next county. So two coroners standing at the scene deciding what to do about it.
Like the poor worker in “Drill ye tarriers, drill” who was “docked for the time he was up in the sky” after a premature explosives blast sent him there.

When the victim was asked, “What was going though your mind when you stepped off the curb?” He replied, “I think it was a windshield wiper.”

Mr. Schwartz would have gotten a perfect score, but the Belgian judge only gave him a 9.0 because he didn’t quite stick his landing!
