Some of my least favorite candies I’d inevitably get on Halloween as a kid: Necco wafers, sweeties, candy necklaces or bracelets, circus peanuts, anything licorice, anything butterscotch, those weird candies in the orange or black papers (peanut butter kisses), caramel creams (the texture bugged me) … I’m sure there were more but those will forever be in my mind.

I LOVE Necco wafers!! Even the licorice!
(I was once driving in the Boston area and passed an old factory building that said New England Confectionery Company, and all became clear.)

I always liked the chocolate ones.

Back in the early 1960s, all of the other kids called them “nickel” wafers, so I thought that was their real name.

About the only candy that I will actually buy these days. Everything else is just overpriced mush.

Edible chalk =P My workplace sells those—both the regular mix and the all-chocolate ones
