I guess that’s a good thing.

My husband was calling everything the “thing” after his stroke and it drove me crazy! He’s gotten better but still calls too many things “the thing.”

I deplore the loss of “whatchamacallit” and “doohickey” from the language.

The Thing? Betty has joined the Fantastic Four!

“The place where we keep the Thing. Obviously!”

The Place. The last place you look. It’ll be there.

Sorry, Betty, but most wives would know exactly what the husband means when he asks about something like that.
