They’d have been better off without the grain! Carbs. I’ve done w/o them for five years, will the rest of my life! I’m amazed how much damage in my body has reversed! Kidney, liver, Fuch’s dystrophy of the corneas, food allergies (38 years), asthma, you name it! I’ll probably live another 20 years! (I’m 72)
Actually Ceres was associated with all grains, She is also, according to mythology, the reason for autumn / fall / winter being the barren season for planting. As Ceres (called Demeter in the Greek myths) mourns the 6 months that her daughter must reside live with Hades each year.
Ceres also has a prominent roll in the Order of Patrons of Husbandry (Grange). And you can find her statue on top of the capital dome in Montpelier, Vermont.

Being a farm boy in my youth, I never knew what the corn silk was and why. Guess didn’t care but I looked up and found it for pollination

… and each silk has to be pollinated or the corn’s kernel will not develop.

It was actually the garlic juice that was used to glue gold leaf to the artwork. It also helped keep vampires away from museums.

I asked an employee where the cereal was, and he said, “I’ll see.” And walked off.
5 minutes later, I asked another employee about the cereal, and he too said, “I’ll see,” and walked away.
I continued on and eventually found it myself. It was in aisle C!

Ironically, Ceres was named after the word for grain. So, the word cereal comes from the word for cereal! Go figure :D

A family goes to the zoo
They’re excited to see all the exotic animals, birds & reptiles. The first enclosure is empty, totally deserted.
Unperturbed they carry on to the next one.. again it’s empty!
Every single enclosure, cage, and run they encounter is empty, deserted and unkempt..
Except, right beside the exit is the last one; a single small solitary cage. And in it sat a small furry creature.. a dog!
The father looked at it and it occurred to him,
“This is a shih tzu!”
