First down the chute once does not make up for the five times it doesn’t come down the chute at all.

A rarity for some. For others it’s a hunt, a wait, a grinding of teeth, and frayed nerves. Happy holiday.

These days, you can pay for “priority luggage” too.

My most recent United flight, delayed 5 hours. While the plane sat at the gate for 6 1/2 hours, no one bothered to load the bags for our flight. Arrived in Newark around 1AM, app said bags were scanned in Newark. Nope, waited for 50 minutes then went to bag service and then was told (by a very nasty agent) that they never got loaded on the plane. One of the rare flights United didn’t send me a survey on my experience.

A feeling I do not know…

When I had to pick my mom up at the airport when she traveled for work, I’d meet her at baggage claim. I’d have her bags before she got there and we were able to leave when everyone else was still waiting

This happened to me only once, and actually, while we were walking together next to the band, I took my suitcase and walked away in a cool way.

He will have to wait another 90 minutes for Frank’s bag to show up at last…!

That has happened to me—once. First down the chute Ohboy!! Did it make up for being the last down the chute (really?) the very next time? LOL!

I guess Great Expectations are relative……

I usually get to the airport early so the bag is one of the first ones in the cargo hold, last one out. Lately I pack light and just do a Carry On. I was overseas early this year and one luggage got off the carousel missing a wheel. I want to get an all aluminum luggage next time, no zippers and those wheels look like they can go off road.

I always figure I have time for a coffee or sparkling water before I join the luggage crowd.
