There used to be published in the Indy Star (formerly, The Indianapolis Star) a Q & A column by a so-called “Doctor” So-and-so. There was a thumbnail portrait printed next to his byline, too. Sometimes I would read the column for laughs. I don’t recall this quack’s name, but his image and the tenor of his columns reminded me of the deranged proctologist played by Jack Elam in “The Cannonball Run.”

I onetime wrote to a newspaper doctor about possible eye vision loss and he replied back that if it’s anything bad that I will find out soon enough.
