My kids tired of my jokes, so I told them that you can’t teach an old dad a new shtick.

No argument there, since I also like bacon, whether it’s bacon, eggs, and toast, bacon sandwiches, or even when I put it on Chicken Caesar salads.

My brother’s old beagle, Sabo, seemed about dead until one day I brought home some souse. I had never seen him sit up and beg before.

I’m easily trained. From that day onward, whenever I stopped at Bill Jones’ Grocery I bought some souse for Sabo.

One time he apologized for only having ends. I explained that would be fine since I was only buying them for Howard’s old stupid dog.

Bill said he would just give me the ends then. I insisted on paying because although the purchase was for Sabo, David ate some too.
