“Blessed are You, Adonai, Who enlivens the dead.”

I love that the above is a commonly invoked Jewish blessing over morning coffee.

Especially that “enlivens the dead” part.

In an altar-nate universe…

The first five sips of a fresh brew make me holler “heidy ho!”

My mornings always start with a cup of strong black coffee. (Actually, my mornings don’t start until after I’ve had that cup of black coffee.)

Great tasting coffee is wonderful, otherwise pass

Early morning sunshine jump starts the day more than caffeine ever would

And it is served at churches everywhere. Never tea for the tea drinkers though.

I used to just drink one cup in the morning. Last year I quit alcohol. Now I drink about a pot of coffee a day. It’s black, but I had to go about 60% decaf. It is, however, better than the alternative.
