I was reminded of a similar setup in a Tom & Jerry cartoon, but the payoff in that one involved several pins and a saw.

I can just see Lio popping up when the lid starts to move, getting licked all over the face, thinking he’s in puppy love heaven — until he realizes it’s a German Shepherd doing the licking.
