I remember those days!

That was an actual Christmas. The year we were giving the boys their bicycles. Told them to go to bed because I knew it was going to be a long night. They got up at 4 as I was just laying down.

Been there, done that-for once Drabble is actually funny!

One year, I wrapped up a wingnut for my brother. The rest of the bicycle was in the garage.

Past tense.

I’m glad my parents made me (let me? Yeah, that sounds better) assemble my own.

When I was young, my parents gave me a toy gas station. As it was many years ago, the toy was made out of metal and had to be assembled. They were up until 4 AM putting it together! Still one of my favorite gifts, although the last ever that needed assembled.

What was that saying on the 4 stages of life? You believe in SC, you don’t believe in SC, you are SC, and then you look like SC – which is where I am now!

We avoided those toys and our kids never missed them.

A Merry Christmas to all the millions of dads in Ralph’s shoes today. And a thank you to my own late father for all he and my mother did for us on Christmas when we were growing up.

Barbie Townhouse. Fasteners were not in the box. Had to improvise with hardware in garage.

the worst were the micro-machines sets that had buildings. they were so small and then try to get the stickers applied correctly

I felt that way about the Turkey brine until I broke it down into small steps. There are so many different opinions on how frequently I need to turn their Turkey over but I got it now. I am OK

Fortunately, none of my cats’ gifts require such elaborate assembly. And they sleep 23 hours a day anyway.
