I always found that anything chocolate from Krispy Kreme sucked. Even a cup of hot cocoa. Very poor quality chocolate. For donuts, I loved the glazed and the cinnamon rolls. And sometimes, I was able to get a cinnamon roll off the hot belt, too!
I don’t find Krispy Kreme to be all that. They’re literally just yeast-based doughnuts, which have been around forever. Put one in the microwave for ten seconds when you get home, et voila! Krispy Kreme.
I do like Krispy Kreme donuts but get them so rarely as they are not available here in my part of the world. We do have a dozen in the freezer now from a local group that sold them as a fundraiser. We ate the first dozen but kept one for a special occasion. I used to like our local Tim Horton’s donuts way back when they shipped frozen dough from a central location to each shop. The local shops did the actual baking. Now they are baked in a central location (probably Toronto for our area) then frozen and shipped to our local outlets. There they are thawed and heated. Something in the taste and texture got lost in the change. I still get at Timmy’s boston creme or chocolate glazed when we are on the road.
Fun day today. Deleting the last of 20 years of work from my computer. When I am done that leaves at least 2 more computers that I have to fire up and do the deleting and 20 years of backups that have to be found and destroyed. Ah well, that will keep me out of trouble until I start my next contract.
I love chocolate anything, but when it comes to donuts, nothing makes me happier than a sweet, raspberry-filled Bismark topped with vanilla icing. Makes me feel like I’ve died and gone to Heaven with every delicious single bite of it! ❤

I was on a business trip in the South and the hotel had a Krispy Kreme shop there with a line out the door every day.
I stood in line and bought several varieties.
I had to throw them all out. They tasted like ultra sweet lard and I couldn’t get the sugary, greasy feeling out of my mouth.

Personally, I always buy chocolate Entenmann’s donuts from my local grocery store. Darn tasty.
