I imagine that being a teacher these days is very trying.

Oh, how I long for the days of the PTA when we could hold teachers accountable! I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a meeting in 40 years in our neck of the woods. And the absolute CRAP they’re teaching in our province, at the behest of the government should result in jail sentences for child abuse.

I am SO done with teachers that think they are God’s gift to humanity and look down on and disregard anything a parent has to say. Even the guy that runs the men’s group at a church I used to go to runs the meetings like a kid’s classroom and dictates how everything should be done.

Yes it was. Now that I have retired from teaching High School History life has been really good. No more fights in the halls between change of classes, I can take my wife out to lunch instead of monitoring the lunch room, bus duty morning and afternoon and dealing with parents and their little angels….but I do miss the kids and telling them the story of America.

There are few cure possibilities … you could try becoming a Walmart supervisor.

Sadly, given the number of teacher that have witnessed school shootings, you can just use PTSD.

I’m a substitute teacher for grades K-12 and I love it! My students always respond well to me, even the troublemakers. Of course, I don’t have to deal with them on a daily basis, but I do see them again and again, as I return to their classes repeatedly. However, admin and dealing with parents is another story. The superintendent from one of the schools, and the president of the district were fired. They were stealing money as those in charge in the county’s office of education. So far nothing has been done regarding this, unfortunately, and it’ll probably remain that way.
