We have lost count of how many times we’ve tripped over our black lab in the middle of the night. She loves to block doorways and the hallway. She always gets a scolding then a few pets of forgiveness for trying to kill us.
Louis is black and invisible in the dark. He guards us by sleeping at the top of the steps. We have learned to shuffle our feet in the dark. He is rough and tumble and thinks we are inviting him to play when we step on him.
When I’m over at my brother’s house for a few days my SIL’s husky loves to sleep in front of the bathroom door and I have to step over him if I need to use it.
small flash lights are very handy if you have a dog that sleeps in doorways or middle of the hall – most of our dogs have slept on the couch or one of the beds – our guest room was their room, which they usually gave up nicely as long as they could squish in between us on our bed

Love Fred’s expressions all the way through.

And that’s a good thing. As long as each party apologizes and no grudges are held, cuddling in a chair and making up is the ultimate good time.

It amazes me, my dog always seems to know when it’s an accident and I would never do anything to hurt her.

I still feel sorry for the humans. I’m sure they’d have had children if they could have.
