That’s kind of low even for Poncho. And I agree with the poster above. Poncho likely reuses the same toothpick as often as he can get away with before replacing it with a new one.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s never to accept a toothpick from a strange dog.

Hello Poncho: This reminds me of scene in an episode of Night Court, in which Dan Fielding is trying to convince his lackey Phil Sanders to do task for him. He says, “I’ve got food”, as he pulls out a length of dental floss.
