I find attention to toenail trimming and removal of dead toe skin goes a long way toward avoiding knee problems. The trouble with developing a big gut is that it gets to the point where you not only cannot see your toes but you become short of breath bending over enough to give yourself a proper pedicure. If your knee does go out in a more permanent way, you will get very little exercise, have reduced mobility and will gain more weight. It’s a vicious circle. Take care of your feet and they will take care of you.
My first ambulance ride was due to my back locking up. We had just closed on the house and were going to celebrate. I twisted slightly, nothing even close to extreme, and the doctor told me a couple of vertebrae hooked into each other. All the back muscles spontaneously contracted to protect the spine, and I couldn’t get off the floor. After a heavy dose of Valium, I was able to slowly walk out of the hospital like a 100-year-old man.

That’s why I am very careful crossing the highway to the mailbox. 45 mph but that is wishful thinking……..

Usually at the most inopportune time. When it does go out, I usually go all the way down. It’s not pleasant!

Heck NO! The trick is to get it to go back in before you have to put weight on it.
