Actually, being an adult usually means that you no longer feel the need to play in falling ice – it should be noted here that I still have ONE child that STILL says that he enjoys he enjoys strapping expensive sticks on his feet and playing on ice – even after breaking his leg while doing so – there evidently is no knocking sense into some people’s heads – so out of two children, I have a 50 percent failure rate – intellectually. oh well!
Parents seem to get this backwards (to a point). They forget that kids bodies are smaller, which retain body heat better than their taller bodies which lose heat faster. I remember not minding the cold as much when I was a kid as I do now. Plus, their active play generates heat, so it’s not hard to over-dress them.

I was barely allowed to play in the snow, much less go sledding, so I don’t know – are sleds really in the form of coffins or rowboats?
