In a way, Jason Fox was a harbinger of the tech bro and I don’t mean that in a positive way.

I wonder if kids today get their allowance as uploads to a debit card.

A true brat. We gave allowances to our kids when they were growing up from 10-18. But there were conditions. You had to clean your room or it was -$2 and you still had to clean it. Do your assigned chore or it was $-3. Maintain your A or B average, or it was $-2. Along with about 5 others. It worked well. Originally they owed us money and then figured it out. Didn’t take long, because we didn’t offer loans if you screwed up. Of course the amount of their allowance varied due to age, but so did the penalty. Oh, you also could not pay another sibling to do your stuff. Wife and I never had to pickup up clothes, clean their room, or do their chores. Funny thing was they took out to dinner on occasion and paid for it themselves. They were so proud!
