Quite the opposite. Consider this practice for college-level cramming.

I went through a bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. and never pulled an all-nighter once. That’s because I pulled plenty of all-day-ers instead. If you go to school and you don’t learn time management, you haven’t learned much of anything.

You won’t be pulling all-nighters if you learn to get on your assignments early and not wait till the last night.

She’s on to you, kid.

He’ll fit right in to the new world. Blame others for your own shortcomings. Although I guess that’s nothing new.

All my years in school I did an all nighter once, lesson learned.

In my later work life, I found the ability to cram / pull all nighters in response to an urgent client need or tech problem at least as valuable as anything else I learned in school. Sure, time management needs to be learned, also, but to be honest higher education UNTEACHES that (you can always skip a class, or avoid classes that meet before 10 am).

I took college courses late, (in my 40s) and in the accelerated Adult programs your classes lasted 4 weeks. Each week you had to turn in a 5-20 page paper on a subject with citations and in your own words. I did this working a full-time job and a part-time jobs, and about 20 hours of research/writing each week. I loved it, but I did not have a social life. I’d do it again in a heartbeat!!!

Caulfield is so intelligent he could crank out the homework almost instantly. The big question is, why assign homework to students who demonstrate mastery of the material in examinations?
