If Rapist Trump is stupid enough, or delusional enough to actually try this, and hostilities break out between Canada and the U.S., I stand with our brothers and sisters to the North.
Idiot’s just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see if anything sticks. Someone should tell him the President gets to fly if he jumps off the Capitol dome. Executive order could eliminate gravity, ya know.
I’ve notice a lot of ads for Ontario in recent weeks, especially in WaPo. Instead of touting tourism, they tout economic interdependence. Wonder why.
Fun fact: a couple of years ago, in Vancouver, I saw a majestic Bald Eagle fly overhead and land on the roof of the building beside me. Five seconds later it reappeared, flying as fast as it could, pursued by two extremely angry Canada geese.
Only two Canadian provinces have populations smaller than Wyoming’s: one is called Newfoundland and Labrador, the other is Prince Edward Island. NL has just over 500,000 residents, while PE has fewer than 200,000 but is growing at about 2% annually.
Quebec has twice voted to remain part of Canada. Many who voted for separation were under the impression that they would be able to retain their Canadian passports. The truth is that Quebec is far more powerful as a discontented province than it would as a separate country with a population smaller than Virginia’s. Separatism should be nothing new to Americans – just ask around in Hawaii and Alaska, or search “Cascadia movement”.

The US would have to let Canadians vote and there might never ever be a republican president again. Hum.

I spent Christmas on the Gaspe’ Peninsula with friends. Any deal to annex Canada won’t go over well in Quebec.

Why bother thinking about things that will never happen. Whatever is out in front, look for what he’s doing behind.
