My suggestion to Rose is to draw a machine front panel on a sticky-note, then stick it on Spud’s forehead. Have the 7-segment LEDs on the panel say “Reformatting…”

Ouch, Rose! You don’t have to say it out loud. Just say that guy’s probably heard that from other people and had a similarly awkward response himself.

Spud, as usually, is over-fretting about this—I’m sure it barely even registered with the store clerk and has probably already forgotten about it happening by now.

Besides, I’m pretty sure this is never what anybody is going to remember Spud the most for. More likely, the store clerk is going to remember him for what he ordered, not what he said when receiving the order.

I can relate to this. Years ago, when I did something for someone, they said “Thank you.” My brain decided to combine the responses “You’re welcome” and “No Problem” into one so I responded “You’re no problem.”

Of course this had to happen in front of my friends. It became a verbal meme amongst us.
