Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
My suggestion to Rose is to draw a machine front panel on a sticky-note, then stick it on Spudâs forehead. Have the 7-segment LEDs on the panel say âReformattingâŠâ
Ouch, Rose! You donât have to say it out loud. Just say that guyâs probably heard that from other people and had a similarly awkward response himself.
Spud, as usually, is over-fretting about thisâIâm sure it barely even registered with the store clerk and has probably already forgotten about it happening by now.
Besides, Iâm pretty sure this is never what anybody is going to remember Spud the most for. More likely, the store clerk is going to remember him for what he ordered, not what he said when receiving the order.
âSometimes youâll say the wrong thing at the right time and feel stupid. Somethinâ like, âYou too!â I was gettinâ out of a cab at the airport and the driver goes, âHey, have a nice flight!â
âYou too!â You too! You have a nice flight too, in case you ever fly someday⊠Donât even look at me, Iâm a moron."
I donât know when to say the âYou tooâ phrase⊠I never learn, you know? A waitress will bring my meal. âHey, enjoy your meal.ââYou too!â âŠBut you donât have one, do ya? Iâm a dufus!â
Yeah. âHappy birthday!â âYou too!â âFeel better!â âYou too!â âWhatâs a six-letter word for âreply to have a nice dayâ?â âYou too!â
What an odd coincidence: Todayâs rerun of a 1990s âFor Better or for Worseâ is about the same theme of erasing memories (with a punchline that will only make sense for those who remember tape recorders):
I can relate to this. Years ago, when I did something for someone, they said âThank you.â My brain decided to combine the responses âYouâre welcomeâ and âNo Problemâ into one so I responded âYouâre no problem.â
Of course this had to happen in front of my friends. It became a verbal meme amongst us.

Thatâs a little too prickly of a response for Rose. She must be having a bad day.
